Rope Splicing: 12 Strand Hollow Braid Deep Dive - Class 1 (polyester) & Class 2 (HMPE)

We'll dive deep into 12 Strand Hollow Braid rope & splicing! You'll craft useful tools (pocket slings, dead eye slings, hammock slings, and more!) while gaining a greater understanding of the preferred rope termination method (SPLICING!) as knots can significantly decrease a ropes strength.

About the event

This class is perfect for someone who wants to deep dive into Rope & Rope splicing to learn how to craft useful tools for everyday life & fun outdoor scenarios!

We'll dive deep into 12 Strand Hollow Braid rope & splicing! 

- You'll craft useful tools like pocket slings, dead eye slings, hammock slings, and more!

- You'll learn how to splice class 1 & class 2 ropes (and what the heck that even means! :) 

- You'll leave with a greater understanding of Splicing: the preferred rope termination method as knots can significantly decrease a ropes strength.

- This class is a MUST for folks in the tree industry or folks that climb trees for recreation! 

Class Structure:

- We'll be both outside & inside our shop 

- This class will be held rain or shine

What to Bring & Wear:

- Water & Snacks that you may need for the duration of the class

- Of course, we'll provide all the tools & gear!

- Feel free to bring your own unique rope if you plan to splice something other than 12 strand hollow braid (we'll help ya out!)  

Age & Ability Range:

- Classes are designed for ages 15 and up

- Folks younger than 15 can attend the class with an adult that will help the child follow along in the class (not a "drop off" class for kiddos)
